Is this a serious competition or just another Reality TV Show?
Yes, this is a serious competition and racing for real prizes. We are car guys creating a show about racing cars on public roads while helping others. We believe that enthusiasts want to see more racing and are tired of hearing about what happened at the hotel bar the night before. On our show, the racing and competition are the focus along with helping the community. We race only on closed public roads where no one has an advantage!
What are the prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place?
Season 1 - CARS First Prize - a Ferrari F430 Second Prize - a Porsche 911 Turbo Third Prize - a Corvette Z51 Convertible Fourth Prize - Your very own set of Steak Knives RHR2 - CASH Winner - $200,000.00 Runner Up - $100,000.00 Third - $50,000.00 Fourth – Steak Knives Is there a prize for the Winner of the Track Day Tryouts? Yes, there will be three Cash Prizes for the Open Tryouts, based on the fastest weighted average time: CASH First Prize - $6,000.00 Second Prize - $3,000.00 Third Prize - $1000.00 Fourth Prize – You guessed it, Steak Knives Why is the 4th place prize Steak Knives?
Nobody wants to come in 4th. Why is there a fee to race and to be on the Robin Hood Rally/Reality TV Show?
The fee covers a small portion of the costs associated with the Rally which include the three day closed road race event. Amateur racers participate in Track Days on closed road courses and pay anywhere from $250/day up to thousands per day. Our events are much more expensive to create and operate due to the fact that they are run on closed public roads and involve a much higher degree of difficulty to setup and execute. Our events offer something no one else can, you get the chance to open it up with No Cops on a closed public road, don’t try that one at home, or even on the way to that Track Day event. The police truly enjoy pulling over speeding sports cars. We work closely with authorities to insure that you get to do something that not many people ever do, and we do it legally and with the cooperation of the civil authorities. In order to pull this off we ask you to pay only what it would typically cost to run at Laguna Seca, Monticello, Lime Rock, Pocono, NJ Motorsports Park, VIR, Watkins Glen, or other road course venues with a SCCA, SCDA, PDA, Porsche Club, etc, which is typically $250/day. Not bad for running on a closed public road with no police worries, no tickets, and the chance to be on a Reality TV Show. Once I complete the Open Tryouts process, am I considered a Participant? Am I required to pay the $5k entry fee to Participate if I am chosen for RHR2?
NO. The only thing you are required to pay is the entry fee of $495 for three days of racing on a closed public road. You are committing to one race event and we are providing three days of racing with a cash prize. What are the criteria to be a Participant?
If you have some reasonable driver skill, a reliable and sporty vehicle (does not have to be exotic), and you have that "spark of humanity" then you may be selected as a Participant. Interest in everything car related goes without saying but we are also looking for that panache, style, humor, etc that makes people want to watch you on TV. How many Open Tryout Seats are you accepting?
We are limiting the field for Open Tryouts to 250 and we will be conducting interviews during and after the racing events on October 21st-23rd. All Open Tryout candidates will be notified if they are selected as a Participant for RHR2. Don’t wait, we received over 1000 applications in two weeks for the planned May event and last season we received more than 1400 applications for Season 1. We expect that these Open Tryouts will sell out quickly. What if it rains?
We run our events rain or shine. How many runs on each course will I get?
You will get multiple runs on the closed road course during each of the three days of racing. Once you are accepted for the Open Tryouts, and you receive the road details, we suggest that you take a trip to see the road and study it in some detail prior to the racing event. You may drive the road at posted limits, take video, pictures, make drawings, etc. Do not get a speeding ticket on the road, you will be disqualified. Is the Robin Hood Rally accepting Sponsorship Inquires?
Yes, please go to the Contact Us tab and type, "I would like to be a sponsor, please contact me", in the questions box. One of our Rally team members will contact you. We are considering sponsors for a wide range of products and services. Will I be on TV?

What types of Tires are allowed?
There is no limitation on the type of tire that can be used. This is up to each Participant or Open Tryout competitor. Keep in mind that we are racing on closed public roads and the conditions can change rapidly based on many factors. Is there a limit on the type of modifications to my vehicle?
No, you may modify your vehicle as you like so long as it is able to be operated on a closed public road. You may make changes to the suspension, brakes, mufflers, turbo charging, computer chips, superchargers, etc. You may add safety gear or simply run bone stock with stock tires; this is up to each competitor. Yes, a helmet with a Snell Rating is required, along with a suitable race suit, gloves, footwear, etc. Many individuals run at closed road course facilities with just a Snell Rating helmet and long sleeved shirt and pants, this is also acceptable. Shorts, t-shirts, and flip flops are not suitable attire when racing. Will my vehicle be required to be equipped with a safety cage, roll bar, or roll over protection?
No, if your vehicle is a factory non-retractable hard-top. Yes, if your vehicle is a convertible or a retractable hard-top. No, as long as your vehicles OEM safety system has not been substantially modified, i.e. the airbag removed. If the OEM equipment has been substantially modified or removed, i.e. you took out the airbag or other OEM safety equipment and it is effectively a race/track car, then yes it will be required to have a racing harness or other suitable belts. Will my vehicle be required to have other safety equipment like a fire extinguisher?
No, as long as your vehicles OEM safety system has not been substantially modified, i.e. the airbag or interior removed. If the OEM equipment has been substantially modified or removed, i.e. you took out the airbag, interior, or other OEM safety equipment and it is effectively a race/track car, then Yes it will be required to have a fire extinguisher. What are your safety specifications, for both car and driver?
Similar to those required for a Marque Club (Porsche, Ferrari, BMW), NASA, SCDA, or PDA Driver Education (DE) events that run at high speed on a closed race course such as Road Atlanta, Watkins Glen, Lime Rock Park, etc. What kind of insurance does the Robin Hood Rally have?
The Robin Hood Rally caries substantial liability insurance for our company and we require all participants to sign our Participant Agreement and subsequent liability waivers at each site they visit. These waivers are similar to Driver Education and Racing events. Is this an all-out best time or an actual rally where we are trying to hit a specific time?
This competition is an all out race, rally style, against the clock. It is effectively a time trial on the closed road course created with public roads. I am a serious competitor and I want to know if this is a serious race?
This race and competition is awarding prizes in excess of $300,000. You can't get more serious than that, no plastic trophies here. Do you allow the use of Nitrous Oxide (NOS)?
No, its use will not be allowed. As a participant you will be penalized and if you repeat the behavior you may be disqualified. How will you establish a fair playing field of competition?
We will weigh your vehicle at the competition site and will establish its nominal horsepower. We will use these two factors to establish our weighted average. What if I lie about the horsepower?
We will know and you may be required to submit your vehicle to a dynamometer test. If you are +/- 10% you may be disqualified for that site and if you repeat the behavior you may be disqualified from the whole competition. What roads are you using?
You will find out prior to arriving at the venue. See the Sample Roads tab for some ideas. How do I sign up for an Open Tryout?
